Hi!
My name is Nick Lacke. I am a web designer, brand designer, and illustrator who develops strong brands through authenticity and craft.

I’m in the process of reorganizing my website portfolio, so please accept this downloadable portfolio in the meantime. Thank you!

What I believe in

I believe in craft. I believe in care. I love learning and expanding my skillset, but web and brand design are my home. I try to understand who the user is, their needs, and how we can best get them from Point A to Point B by reducing friction.

There are many talented people out there, but I pride myself on how often I am described as “a delight to work with.” Soft skills and emotional intelligence are underrated assets in the workplace, but can truly make the difference in the long run.

I am a natural collaborator who believes that interdisciplinary teams and a strong culture deliver more impactful results. I put the customer first and use research and experience to create successful experiences.

Why me?

  • I have a strong multidisciplinary skillset that stretches brand design, web design, art direction, illustration, and UX. I have worked on small teams and large teams and can flex to meet the needs of this role.

  • I am passionate. I always put my best foot forward and strive to do good work. I also believe in a culture of feedback. I believe that being able to give and receive feedback is a valuable gift, as it ultimately strengthens the work.

  • I work hard, but I am easy to work with. I think in this fraught economy and job market, that often gets tossed aside. This cooperative and collaborative attitude is central to my personality—I don’t know, maybe it’s a midwestern thing?
